Rookie Frank Corral booted his third game-winning field goal of 1978 with two seconds remaining in regulation time to give Los Angeles its tenth victory. Pat Haden completed five of six passes as he led the Rams 62 yards in eight plays to set up Corral's 24-yard kick. San Francisco rallied from a 28-14 deficit to tie Los Angeles on an 89-yard kickoff return by Dave Williams. San Francisco's Paul Hofer (20 carries for 104 yards and three touchdowns) recorded the first 100-yard game of his NFL career.
