Dave Brown's recovery of a Kansas City fumble at the Seahawks' 17 with six seconds left to play enabled Seattle to even its record at 6-6. The Chiefs, who suffered their second straight last-minute defeat, closed to within three points with 10:09 left in the game on Mike Livingston's short touchdown pass to Ted McKnight. Fumble recoveries by Keith Simpson and Keith Butler set up Efren Herrera's 40-yard field goal and David Sims' 10-yard touchdown, which gave Seattle a 10-3 halftime advantage.
