Jim Hart and Dave Stief teamed up on a 53-yard touchdown pass midway through the fourth quarter to give St. Louis the victory, its fifth in the last six games. The Lions tied the score 14-14 in the fourth quarter on Gary Danielson's second touchdown pass of the day, a 15-yarder to David Hill. On the ensuing kickoff, Tim Kearney's 22-yard return put the ball on the Cardinals' 47. Two plays later Hart hit Stief with the winning score. The St. Louis defense intercepted five passes, three by Perry Smith.
