Larry Csonka's one-yard touchdown run enabled Miami to extend its winning streak over Buffalo to 19 games. Buffalo took a 7-0 second-quarter lead when Sherman White blocked a field goal attempt and Charles Romes returned it 76 yards for a touchdown. The Dolphins went ahead with 6:29 left in the game on a 77-yard scoring drive in which Csonka rushed seven times for 45 yards. With four seconds left Buffalo missed its last chance for victory when Tom Dempsey's 34-yard field goal attempt sailed wide. Csonka gained 87 yards on 16 carries to move into sixth place on the all-time NFL rushing list.
