Strock entered the contest after Rick Danmeier staked Minnesota to a 12-7 third-quarter advantage with four field goals. Miami's comeback was triggered by a recovery of a Tommy Kramer fumble that led to a six-yard scoring toss from Strock (five of seven for 92 yards, and two touchdowns) to Larry Csonka.
