Houston overcame a 24-0 deficit to defeat winless Cincinnati in overtime. Dan Pastorini hit Ken Burrough with a 35-yard touchdown pass and Toni Fritsch kicked a 43-yard field goal as Houston cut Cincinnati's halftime lead to 24-10. The Oilers scored on each of their next three possessions to take a 27-24 lead. Cincinnati's Chris Bahr kicked a club-record 55-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter to send the game into overtime. Both defenses held until 14:28 into overtime when Fritsch's 29-yard field goal gave Houston the victory.
