Jones scored in the second quarter on a one-yard run and hit Mack Alston with a four-yard touchdown pass with 6:05 left to give the Colts their winning margin. Lyle Blackwood recovered a Bills fumble with four minutes left and Mike Ozdowski sacked Joe Ferguson on fourth down with 1:45 remaining to seal the Colts' second victory of the season.

Brian Sipe threw three touchdown passes to lead the Browns' comeback win. Sipe passed for touchdowns of two yards to Ricky Feacher, 50 yards to Mike Pruitt and 27 yards to Ozzie Newsome to bring Cleveland back from a 20-7 deficit. Charlie Hall's block of the Bengals' extra point attempt following their third touchdown provided the margin of victory. Tommy Kramer's fourth touchdown pass of the game, a five-yarder to Rickey Young with 13 seconds left, gave the Vikings a come-from-behind victory.
