Steve Grogan set up two touchdowns and passed for another to lead the Patriots' comeback win. Grogan directed drives of 69 and 59 yards, culminated by one-yard scoring plunges by Horace Ivory and Sam Cunningham, respectively, to wipe out a 13-0 Miami advantage. Ray Jarvis caught a 15-yard fourth-period touchdown pass from Grogan and Mike Hawkins capped the scoring with a 35-yard interception return. New England moved into sole possession of first place in the AFC East.
