Records a small revolution in Southern politics: the election of Negro Charles Evers as mayor of Fayette, Miss. In the century since Reconstruction, Evers, voted in less than a year ago, is the first black to displace a white mayor in Mississippi. Included are segments examining the man and the mayor, filmed meetings of Evers' administrative staff, a tour of the black sections of Fayette and a court session over which Evers presides as town judge. William H. Lawrence is host.
