  • The U.S. is seeking the release of 180 American hostages on hijacked jets; 100 women and children were freed by the Palestinian hijackers. The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine is a Marxist guerrilla movement. The captors say that they'll blow up the planes and the people on board if Arab prisoners are not freed, including 3,000 in Israel; the guerrillas denied demanding the release of Sirhan Sirhan. [CBS]
