In her first special for NBC, Carol Channing hosts a comedy hour taped in London. Fred MacMurray, Art Carney, Sir John Gielgud and Sir Ralph Richardson are guests. The format calls for comedy to center on fictional and real-life personalities who are famous in this country and in England. The cast does takeoffs on "The Forsyte Saga", Queen Victoria and Anne Boleyn, plus Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Miss Channing also sings and dances to "Tea for Two" and "Mad Dogs and Englishmen".
