[ABC 7:30] Animal World: Our Vanishing Wildlife
Film footage and depressing statistics on animals being jeopardized by man on land, sea and air are documented. The threatened species are the whale, sea otter, leopard, cheetah, oryx and the California condor. If the current rate of killing goes on, in about 30 years it is feared that all of the 4,062 species of mammals still on earth will disappear entirely.

In his premiere show, Frost does a take-off on his own show when he interviews "Geraldine Jones". Wilson and Frost are in another skit in which a passenger books a flight on the basis of the movie being shown. Wilson and Big Bird perform in a musical number . Brown sings "It's a New Day" and "September Song". Sunday's Child sing "Wichita Lineman".

Don Rickles hosts and stars in a comedy-variety special. Don Adams, Robert Goulet and Harvey Korman join Rickles in sketches in which he is featured as a shy monk, an insulting husband and a newlywed. The highlight of the program is when three real doctors sit down with Rickles to try to uncover his real image and reasons for his biting humor. Goulet sings "A Real Live Doll" and "What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?".

[NBC 10:00] The Dean Martin Show [Reg]
Season 6, episode 1 With Orson Welles, Petula Clark, Joey Bishop. Martin launches his sixth season. Welles turns to comedy in vignettes and is in a sketch with Martin in a pet maternity ward setting. Martin solos "It Keeps Right on a Hurtin'" and "My Woman, My Woman, My Wife". Miss Clark presents "Call Me" and joins Dean for a happiness medley. In a sketch, Bishop and Martin portray two construction workers celebrating 12 years of working together; the cast spoofs famous singers.
