The plan is for increased troop withdrawals and a cease-fire; the White House denied any political motive. [CBS] South Vietnam President Thieu has ordered Vice President Nguyen Cao Ky to return to Saigon from London. [CBS] Bolivia's president resigned today; left and right-wing army generals are battling to take over the government. [CBS] Hundreds of Soviet missiles remain in the Suez Canal zone; the military balance there has changed in favor of the Arabs. The U.S. denounced Soviet aid to the United Arab Republic. The UAR said that it won't roll back the missiles, and the ruling party vowed to increase their fight against Israel. [CBS] Sgt. David Mitchell's My Lai trial starts tomorrow at Fort Hood, Texas. [CBS] Communists attacked a South Vietnamese refugee camp. [CBS] There was no word on kidnapped British diplomat James Cross, who was taken by Quebec separatists. [CBS] The Ohio National Guard has asked the Army for non-deadly crowd control weapons but will still carry guns and ammunition. [CBS] The Senate is seeking a solution to increased attacks on policemen; the Internal Security Committee heard testimony today. New legislation may outlaw any verbal revolutionary slogans.
