NGS delves into the zoological world in its first special of the season to record the sights and sounds and fascination that lure over 300 million visitors a year into the more than 500 zoos around the world. Writer-producer Christine Zurbach traveled the United States, Europe, Japan, India and Africa in her quest. Among those appearing on the program are zoo directors and conservationists, keepers, children, and well-known figures such as Desmond Morris, author of "The Naked Ape", and Britain's Lord Snowdon. Joseph Campanella is host-narrator.
