Andy with Ozzie, Harriet and Jonathan do a comedy sketch which looks at primetime programming produced by a local TV station. Andy sings "The Impossible Dream" and introduces Jonathan in the role of the storyteller. Bobbie Gentry sings "Ode to Billie Joe", then the Carpenters perform "We've Only Just Begun". Andy closes with "The Way You Look Tonight".

[CBS 8:00] National Geographic Special: The Great Mojave Desert [special] The season's third National Geographic Society documentary explores the disconcerting beauties and hazards of land the early Indians called "the land that supports no man". Writer and professional hiker Colin Fletcher points out the surprises and deceptions of the desert, where people and wildlife have adjusted to its severity. Joseph Campanella narrates.
