[CBS 7:30] Justice Delayed, Justice Denied The occasionally lopsided judicial system in America comes under fire. Newsman Eric Sevareid examines how the serious backlog of cases pending before courts tends to compromise justice, specifically through a procedure called plea bargaining. In the method, the prosecutor and defense attorney dispense with the formality of the courtroom when they argue the disposition of a case in private. Commenting on the overall situation are Chief Justice Warren Burger of the Supreme Court, President Nixon, defense lawyers and trial judges.
