NBC reprises a documentary recording the heroic efforts of firefighters in a battle against a blaze which eventually destroyed more than 12 million trees as it engulfed the Wenatchee and Okanogan National Forests in Washington state in August and September of 1970. More than 8,000 men fought the fire for over 10 days. Lorne Greene narrates.
