Season 1, episode 1 W: Harvey Bullock, R.S. Allen D: Norman Tokar With Mike Mazurki (Julie), Rudy Vallee (Himself). Comedy series satirizing the Chicago gangster era of the roaring 1920s. Dean Jones returns to TV in a weekly series, starring as Linc McCray, part-owner of a speakeasy. John Banner (formerly Sgt. Schultz of Hogan's Heroes) plays Uncle Latzi, who owns the other half. In the opening show, Linc and Uncle Latzi try to figure a way to top Big Nick, the underground gang leader, from hiring away the club's popular orchestra, led by a nasal-toned singer named Rudy Vallee.

In the first episode of the Jack Webb production, Ryan fights to introduce a homicide confession by a man suspected of drowning his 2-year-old daughter in a bathtub, rather than settle for a guilty plea to a charge of involuntary manslaughter.
