Ed Sullivan presents the art of the buffoon with an assist from Lucie Arnaz, Tiny Tim, Chuck McCann, professional clown George Carl and a stellar array of circus acts, including trapeze artist Jay Alexander. Sullivan, in makeup as Smiley the Clown, introduces the acts solely in pantomime and performs as an inept magician. Miss Arnaz is the singing clown and Sullivan's interpreter, Tiny Tim is the Love Clown, McCann the Villain Clown and Carl the Meek Clown.
