Tennessee Ernie Ford hosts a musical-variety special commemorating Independence Day. This salute to America originates in Oklahoma City. Colonel Risner will outline achievements by specific Americans during the seven years he spent in a POW camp. Highlights include Severinsen and his band performing "Yankee Doodle"; Rawls sings "Man of Values" followed by Miss Bryant's "Day by Day" and "The Impossible Dream"; Hope will offer a tribute to America and participate in the finale of "America the Beautiful".
