The second of four seasonal documentaries recounts the traumatic and adventurous experiences of a mixed teenage group as they attempt to scale the formidable Santa Rosa Peak in the Peruvian Andes. It focuses on the mental and physical conflicts of three young people of diverse social and ethnic backgrounds, each of whom in his own way hopes to "find" himself in the critical challenge ahead, the climbing of the icy, windswept peak. In preparation for their assignment, the trio -- along with other serious adventurers -- spend three arduous weeks at the famed Outward Bound Wilderness School in Colorado, a unique institution offering one of the most rugged courses in mountain climbing in the world.
