Bob Hope emcees the 50th annual show, live from the Dorothy Chandler Pavillion of the Los Angeles Music Center. Fred Astaire, Olivia De Havilland, Janet Gaynor and Bette Davis will be among the presenters. Eight special awards are to be included along with the winners, and such stars as Faye Dunaway, Farrah Fawcett-Majors, Walter Matthau, Steve McQueen, Henry Winkler and the robot heroes of "Star Wars" will also be on hand.
