Today's scores and summaries:

Orioles 7, Royals 3 at Baltimore (night game):
With four homers in their arsenal, the Orioles defeated the Royals, 7-3, for their 15th straight victory over the expansion club in a two-season span. Davey Johnson homered with a man on base in the fourth inning and Elrod Hendricks followed with a solo swat. Brooks Robinson added a two-run wallop in the fifth and Boog Powell wound up the bombardment in the seventh. Pat Kelly hit an inside-the-park homer for the Royals.

Senators 6, Angels 1 at California (night game):
George Brunet, who lost to his former California teammates, 5-3, in their first meeting April 25, came back to gain a victory when the Senators defeated the Angels, 6-1. Brunet, who also drove in one of the Nats' runs with a single, pitched six and one-third innings and yielded eight hits before giving way to Horacio Pina, who finished and allowed one more hit.

White Sox 2, Indians 1 at Chicago (night game):
His ability to bunt paid off for Tommy John when the lefthander traveled the route for the first time this season and pitched the White Sox to a 2-1 victory over the Indians in a game marked by a total of nine double plays, tying the major league record for two clubs. The Indians executed five. After Bobby Knoop singled in the third inning, a sacrifice by John and single by Tommy McCraw produced the first run for the White Sox. After Knoop was hit by a pitch in the fifth, John again bunted successfully and Luis Aparicio followed with a single to drive in the deciding run.

Twins 8, Tigers 5 at Detroit (day game):
In a one-man slugging show, Tony Oliva drove in six runs with a homer, triple and single to power the Twins to an 8-5 victory over the Tigers. Oliva homered with a man on base in the first inning, singled another run across in the third and then tripled with the bases loaded in the fifth. Luis Tiant, who received credit for his fifth straight victory, pitched only 5 2/3 innings and issued nine passes, setting the Twins' club record for most walks by one pitcher in a game. Dick McAuliffe homered off Tiant with a man on base in the fourth and Al Kaline connected off reliever Stan Williams in the eighth.

Red Sox 6, Brewers 0 at Milwaukee (night game):
Sonny Siebert not only pitched a three-hitter, but also doubled in the sixth inning for the first Red Sox safety to spark the scoring in a 6-0 victory over the Brewers. Siebert's two-bagger followed a pass to Tom Satriano. After Mike Andrews walked to load the bases, Reggie Smith drove in two runs with a double, and an intentional pass to Carl Yastrzemski reloaded the sacks and three more Boston runs then scored on a single by Tony Conigliaro, a walk to George Scott and an error.

A's 11, Yankees 3 at Oakland (night game):
Backed by a 15-hit attack, Catfish Hunter turned in his fourth complete game of the season and pitched the Athletics to an 11-3 victory over the Yankees. Dave Duncan led the A's with two doubles and two singles. In the eighth inning, when the A's iced the verdict with a six-run outburst, Duncan started the stanza with a double and closed the scoring with an RBI single.

Braves 12, Pirates 6 at Atlanta (night game):
The Braves exploded for seven runs in the second inning and picked up four others on two homers by Clete Boyer to wallop the Pirates, 12-6, for their eighth straight victory. In the second, the Braves scored two runs on passes issued by Bob Moose with the bases loaded. Felix Millan then cleared the sacks with a double and Hank Aaron followed with a homer. Boyer hit his first round-tripper in the third and repeated with two men on base in the fifth. Rico Carty singled twice, hitting safely in his 25th straight game.

Reds 5, Cardinals 1 at Cincinnati (night game):
Getting three-hit pitching from Wayne Simpson, their rookie sensation, the Reds defeated the Cardinals, 5-1, for their seventh straight victory. Dick Allen homered for the Cardinals' run in the second inning. The Reds went ahead in the fourth with a homer by Bobby Tolan, double by Johnny Bench, an infield out and a wild pitch by Steve Carlton. Lee May added a two-run homer in the sixth and Bobby Tolan singled in the final run in the seventh.

Astros 3, Cubs 1 at Houston (night game):
Larry Dierker yielded only four hits and pitched the Astros to a 3-1 victory over the Cubs. Jim Wynn, who collected three of the Astros' nine hits off Fergie Jenkins, doubled in the first inning and scored on a two-bagger by Joe Pepitone. Norm Miller homered in the third. After Ron Santo hit for the circuit to give the Cubs their run in the sixth, the Astros wound up the scoring with a triple by Joe Morgan and single by Wynn in the seventh.

Giants 4, Expos 1 at Montreal (night game):
Bobby Bonds scored one run and batted in two others to lead the Giants to a 4-1 victory over the Expos. After drawing a pass in the first inning, Bonds stole two bases and crossed the plate on a single by Willie Mays. Bonds picked up his RBIs with a single in the sixth after Dick Dietz doubled, Tito Fuentes walked and Rich Robertson sacrificed. A homer by Adolfo Phillips in the ninth saved the Expos from being shut out at the hands of Robertson, who scattered eight hits.

Dodgers 4, Mets 0 at New York (night game):
Two-run doubles by Billy Grabarkewitz and Wes Parker carried the Dodgers to a 4-0 victory over the Mets behind the combined pitching of Sandy Vance and Fred Norman. Vance worked the first five innings before going out for a pinch-hitter in the sixth when the Dodgers broke the scoreless tie. Andy Kosco singled and was forced by Parker, who stopped at third on a double by Willie Crawford. Grabarkewitz drove them home with his two-bagger. Von Joshua singled in the seventh, Maury Wills beat out a bunt and, after two out, Parker hit his double.

Padres 11, Phillies 8 at Philadelphia (night game):
After falling behind in the first inning, 7-0, the Padres battled their way back and overhauled the Phillies, 11-8. Larry Hisle and Mike Compton each homered with a man on base in the Phillies' initial outburst. Steve Huntz and Al Ferrara hit two-run homers and Ollie Brown added a solo swat as the Padres whittled away at their deficit. Still one run behind at 8-7 going into the ninth, the Padres opened the inning with a double by Huntz and went into the lead when Cito Gaston hit for the circuit. Nate Colbert and Brown followed with singles and Ron Slocum drove them home with a double to clinch the verdict.
