Today's scores and summaries:

Orioles 4, A's 2 at Baltimore (day game):
Dave May homered with a man on base and two out in the 10th inning to give the Orioles a 4-2 victory over the Athletics. Frank Robinson opened the stanza with a single and was forced on a bunt attempt by Don Buford. After Mark Belanger flied out, May came through with his circuit clout.

[DH] Senators 8, White Sox 4 (day game) / Senators 5, White Sox 3 at Chicago (day game):
Aurelio Rodriguez had the biggest day of his major league career with five hits, including two homers, to lead the Senators to 8-4 and 5-3 victories over the White Sox in their first sweep of a doubleheader this season. Darold Knowles, who finished both games, picked up his 11th and 12th saves. Rodriguez started his hitting with a homer in the second inning of the lidlifter. Frank Howard rapped a round-tripper with two men on base in the fifth. Rodriguez collected four straight hits, including his second homer of the day, and drove in three runs in the nightcap.

Indians 9, Brewers 2 at Cleveland (day game):
Steve Dunning, fresh from the campus of Stanford University, made his pro debut and pitched five innings to receive credit for a victory when the Indians defeated the Brewers, 9-2. Dunning, the No. 1 choice of the Tribe in the June 4 free-agent draft, allowed five hits, including a two-run homer by Tommy Harper. Bob Miller finished the game for the rookie. Eddie Leon and Vada Pinson each batted in three runs for the Indians.

Tigers 8, Angels 4 at Detroit (day game):
Willie Horton started the Tigers' scoring with a homer in the second inning and wound it up with another circuit clout in the seventh to mark an 8-4 victory over the Angels. Horton also singled in the fifth and scored on a homer by Norm Cash. The Tigers picked up their other runs in the third, two counting on a single by Bill Freehan. Jim Fregosi and Alex Johnson homered for the Angels.

Yankees 3, Royals 2 at Kansas City (day game):
A double by Roy White on a fly to right field that Pat Kelly lost in the sun proved a break in the ninth inning that enabled the Yankees to beat the Royals, 3-2. After reaching second, White advanced to third on a grounder and scored the winning run on a pinch-single by Thurman Munson.

Twins 10, Red Sox 2 at Minnesota (day game):
Bert Blyleven, the 19-year-old rookie right-hander, gained his second victory in three starts when the Twins defeated the Red Sox, 10-2. Blyleven went out for a pinch-hitter in the fifth inning after allowing two runs on six hits while striking out seven. The Twins, who had a 5-2 lead, added a sixth run when Rick Renick, batting for Blyleven, drew a pass with the bases loaded. The Twins iced the verdict with four runs in the eighth on three singles, an infield out and a homer by Jim Holt.

Dodgers 5, Cubs 4 at Los Angeles (day game):
Pinch-hitting with two out in the ninth inning, Bill Sudakis came through with a two-run homer to bring the Dodgers a 5-4 victory over the Cubs. Jim Hickman homered with a man on base for the Cubs in the first inning. After the Dodgers picked up a run in their half, the Cubs added two in the second on a homer by Ernie Banks, a walk to Jack Hiatt, a sacrifice, an infield out and a single by Paul Popovich. The Dodgers closed the gap with a pair in their half on a double by Andy Kosco, singles by Tom Haller and Jim Lefebvre and an infield out by Len Gabrielson. In the ninth, Billy Grabarkewitz singled and was forced by Haller. Von Joshua ran for Haller and scored ahead of Sudakis on his homer.

Expos 2, Astros 1 at Montreal (day game):
A homer by John Boccabella after a double by John Bateman in the fourth inning enabled the Expos to defeat the Astros, 2-1. The Expos had only two other hits off Denny Lemaster, who suffered his first defeat at the hands of the expansion club after winning four meetings last season. The Astros were also held to four hits by Steve Renko, who faltered in the ninth inning and needed a helping hand from Claude Raymond. The Astros' run counted in the third inning on a triple by Hector Torres and a sacrifice fly by Joe Pepitone.

Mets 7, Braves 5 at New York (day game):
Tom Seaver struggled through the first five innings, but then settled down and was a winner when the Mets came from behind to gain a 7-5 victory over the Braves. With Bob Tillman contributing a homer, the Braves held a 5-2 led before the Mets rallied to tie the score in the fifth on a triple by Bud Harrelson, single by Art Shamsky and homer by Wayne Garrett. The Mets added the winning runs in the sixth. Duffy Dyer walked and when Clete Boyer threw wild on a grounder by Seaver, both runners were safe, Dyer reaching third. Dyer was run down on Tommie Agee's bouncer to Pat Jarvis, but Harrelson singled, scoring Seaver. A passed ball allowed Agee to count an insurance run.

Reds 10, Phillies 1 at Philadelphia (day game):
The Reds piled up 18 hits and beat the Phillies, 10-1, behind the six-hit pitching of Jim McGlothlin, who posted his sixth straight victory.
