Today's scores and summaries:

[DH] Orioles 3, Angels 1 (night game) / Orioles 3, Angels 1 at Baltimore (night game):
After Dave McNally pitched a four-hitter in the opener, Pat Dobson allowed nine hits in the nightcap, but was equally successful, as the Orioles swept a twi-night doubleheader from the Angels, winning each game by the identical score of 3-1. The Orioles gave McNally his edge by breaking a 1-1 tie with two runs in the fifth inning. Don Buford was hit by a pitch, stole second, took third on a groundout and scored on a single by Brooks Robinson. A walk to Merv Rettenmund and single by Davey Johnson added the other run. Frank Robinson batted in one run and scored another in the nightcap. Dobson, who yielded a homer by Ken McMullen in the eighth inning, bore down to save his victory by retiring Jerry Moses with the bases loaded in the ninth.

Red Sox 10, White Sox 1 at Chicago (day game):
Immediate rescheduling of the previous night's postponed game backfired on the White Sox, who drew only 511 paid and lost to the Red Sox, 10-1. Cloudy weather with a threat of rain and temperatures in the 40s also helped to hold down the crowd. The White Sox committed six errors.

Twins 5, Yankees 3 at Minnesota (night game):
Mel Stottlemyre issued only three walks, but all came in the eighth inning when the Twins scored three runs to defeat the Yankees, 5-3. George Mitterwald drew the first pass. Danny Thompson sacrificed and Cesar Tovar singled, scoring pinch-runner Paul Powell. After Rod Carew was retired, Tony Oliva and Brant Alyea both walked to load the bases and Steve Braun then singled, driving in two runs to provide the Twins' winning margin.

Dodgers 5, Reds 2 at Los Angeles (night game):
Sending nine men to bat, the Dodgers scored four runs in the third inning and defeated the Reds, 5-2. Singles by Manny Mota and Willie Davis started the outburst. Dick Allen forced Mota, but Wes Parker batted in one run with a single and Jim Lefebvre plated another with a double. Following two passes, a single by Billy Grabarkewitz and sacrifice fly by Claude Osteen added two more tallies.

Astros 5, Expos 2 at Montreal (night game):
Unbeaten Larry Dierker received credit for his fifth straight victory when the Astros defeated the Expos, 5-2. Steve Renko's fate as the starter for the Expos was sealed in the first inning. Roger Metzger singled, Joe Morgan walked and Jim Wynn singled for one run. Morgan stole third and continued home on a wild throw by catcher John Bateman. Jesus Alou followed with a single to drive in a third run.
