Today's scores and summaries:

Orioles 6, White Sox 3 at Baltimore (night game):
Frank Robinson's first sacrifice hunt since 1957 helped the Orioles score four runs in the sixth inning to defeat the White Sox. 6-3. Robinson's bunt followed passes to Don Buford and Paul Blair. Brooks Robinson then walked to load the bases. Davey Johnson doubled, driving in two runs, and Andy Etchebarren singled to add two more.

Senators 5, Angels 4 at California (night game):
Coming from behind, the Senators scored four runs in the sixth inning to defeat the Angels, 5-4. Homers by Jim Fregosi and John Stephenson helped the Angels take a 4-1 lead before Frank Howard opened the Senators' sixth with a 406-foot smash over the center field fence. Jeff Burroughs walked and scored on a double by Dick Billings. After a single by Dave Nelson and pass to Elliott Maddox loaded the bases, Toby Harrah singled to drive in the tying and winning runs.

Brewers 10, Indians 8 at Cleveland (night game):
Dave May hit a two-run homer in the ninth inning for the deciding blow as the Brewers outlasted the Indians, 10-8. After May's smash provided the Brewers with a 10-6 lead, the Indians rallied for two runs in their half on a bases-loaded single by Graig Nettles with one away, but Ken Sanders retired the next two batters to save the game.

Tigers 6, Twins 2 at Detroit (night game):
Mickey Lolich posted his 21st victory of the season as the Tigers defeated the Twins, 6-2. Al Kaline hit a two-run homer for the Tigers in the first inning before the Twins picked up their pair on a single by Rod Carew and circuit clout by Harmon Killebrew in the third. Bill Freehan broke the tie with a two-run double in the sixth. Lolich, who had gone hitless in 38 times at bat, rapped a double to drive a run across in the seventh and Norm Cash walked with the bases loaded for the final tally in the eighth.

Royals 7, Red Sox 5 at Kansas City (night game):
The Royals defeated the Red Sox for the 11th straight time this season, winning, 7-5, behind the relief pitching of Lance Clemons, who gained credit for his first major league victory. The Red Sox appeared on the road to breaking the Royals' mastery when they scored four runs in the second inning, three counting on a homer by Gary Peters. However, the Royals struck back for five in the third. Bobby Knoop singled, Buck Martinez doubled and Al Fitzmorris hit a sacrifice fly for the first marker. Singles by Freddie Patek and Paul Schaal produced another run. After Amos Otis walked to load the bases, Lou Piniella drove in two runs with a single and Bob Oliver capped the outburst with a sacrifice fly. The Royals added what proved to be the deciding run in the sixth on a single by Patek, a stolen base and single by Otis.

Yankees 4, A's 2 at Oakland (night game):
With the backing of Bobby Murcer, who drove in three runs, Steve Kline pitched the Yankees to a 4-2 victory over the Athletics. A single by Jerry Kenney, double by Jake Gibbs and single by Murcer gave the Yankees two runs in the first inning. Murcer added a homer in the third and Felipe Alou accounted for the Yankees' last run with a round-tripper in the fourth. Reggie Jackson and Rick Monday homered for the A's tallies.

Pirates 13, Braves 6 at Atlanta (night game):
Piling up their season high of 21 hits, the Pirates defeated the Braves, 13-6. The Pirates broke on top with six runs on eight singles in the first inning. After hits by Rennie Stennett, Al Oliver and Roberto Clemente loaded the bases, the next two batters struck out, but five straight singles followed by Milt May, Dave Cash, Jackie Hernandez, Bruce Kison and Stennett. Willie Stargell and Bob Robertson hit back-to-back homers in the second, Stargell's blow coming with a man on base. Clemente finished the game with five singles in six trips. Hank Aaron homered for the sixth time in a stretch of six games for the Braves to raise his career total to 630.

Reds 9, Cubs 4 at Chicago (day game):
Lee May, who collected two homers and two singles, batted in five runs to supply the Reds' principal power in a 9-4 victory over the Cubs. Tony Perez and Tommy Helms also hit homers. Cardinals 4, Astros 1 at Houston (night game):
Joe Torre drove in two runs with a double in the third inning and Ted Simmons added two with a homer in the eighth to carry the Cardinals to a 4-1 victory over the Astros. Torre, who tripled ahead of Simmons' homer, also had a single in his 3-for-3 night, raising his league-leading batting average to .360. Steve Carlton recorded his 17th victory, matching the southpaw's previous season high in 1969.

Dodgers 4, Expos 1 at Montreal (night game):
