Today's scores and summaries:

Cardinals 6, Mets 1 at New York (night game):
The Cardinals broke a tight game apart with a five-run outburst in the 10th inning and defeated the Mets, 6-1. Matty Alou drove in the first two runs with a pinch-double after the Cardinals had loaded the bases on a single by Joe Torre and two walks. Bob Burda drew a pass to fill the sacks again and Lou Brock was hit by a pitch to force in a third run. A single by Luis Melendez added the last two tallies.
