Today's scores and summaries:

Orioles 1, Red Sox 0 at Baltimore (night game):
The Orioles concluded the regular season with their 11th straight victory, defeating the Red Sox, 1-0, in the final game for both clubs. Grant Jackson, who was the winner, combined with relievers Tom Dukes and Eddie Watt in the shutout, while Brooks Robinson accounted for the only run with a homer off Mike Garman in the second inning.

White Sox 2, Brewers 1 at Chicago (night game):
The White Sox, who had already clinched third place in the West division as a result of the Angels' loss to the Twins in an afternoon game, showed they could have done it without help by defeating the Brewers, 2-1. Bill Melton hit two homers to account for both White Sox runs and Wilbur Wood pitched a five-hitter to record his 22nd victory.

Indians 2, Tigers 1 at Cleveland (night game):
Vince Colbert, the only Indians' pitcher to turn in a complete-game victory since August 14, did it for a second time, beating the Tigers, 2-1, as both clubs wound up their seasons. Mickey Lolich, who was the loser of the duel with the rookie, drew his 14th defeat, but the veteran lefthander wound up as the league leader in victories (25), innings pitched (376), complete games (29) and strikeouts (308).

Twins 1, Angels 0 at Minnesota (day game):
A homer by Rick Renick in the second inning enabled Bert Blyleven to pitch the Twins to a 1-0 victory over the Angels in a duel with Clyde Wright.

A's 8, Royals 7 at Oakland (day game):
A two-run double by Curt Blefary in the ninth inning gave the Athletics an 8-7 victory over the Royals in their last game of the regular season. Bob Oliver hit two homers, driving in four runs for the Royals, and Paul Schaal accounted for two RBIs with a homer and single. The A's, who were losing, 7-6, loaded the bases in the ninth on a single by Dick Green, throwing error by Ted Abernathy on a bunt by George Hendrick, and an intentional pass to Dwain Anderson. Tom Burgmeier, relieving, retired Mike Hegan and Reggie Jackson to come within one of saving the game, but Blefary won it for the A's with his double.

Yankees 6, Senators 3 at Washington (night game):
After giving up three runs on six hits in the first three innings, Mel Stottlemyre yielded only three more safeties the rest of the way and pitched the Yankees to a 6-3 victory over the Senators. The Yankees clinched it for Stottlemyre with four runs in the fifth inning. Felipe Alou drove in two tallies with a bases-loaded single and two more followed on a single by Ron Hansen and infield out by Jake Gibbs.

Astros 11, Dodgers 0 at Los Angeles (night game):
The Astros knocked out 20-game winner Al Downing and walloped the Dodgers, 11-0, but the L. A. crew remained one game behind in the West division race when the Giants also lost to the Padres. In the first inning, Joe Morgan walked and was on second with a theft when the Astros struck for four runs after two were out. Bob Watson singled to score Morgan. Jim Wynn followed with a single. Jesus Alou doubled, driving in Watson. Denis Menke walked to load the bases and Larry Howard singled to score Wynn and Alou. From then on, it was all downhill for the Dodgers, who were held to nine hits by Ken Forsch. Watson drove in two more runs with a homer in the fourth and Howard accounted for his third RBI of the game with a double in the sixth.

Expos 6, Cubs 5 at Montreal (night game):
Ron Hunt, who set a major league record earlier in the game when he was hit by a pitched ball for the 50th time this season, drove in a run with a single in the ninth inning to give the Expos a 6-5 victory over the Cubs. Hunt was nicked by a Milt Pappas pitch in the second inning to go one up on Hugh Jennings, who was hit 49 times with Baltimore's N. L. club in 1896. Billy Williams walloped a pair of two-run homers for the Cubs. With the score tied, 5-5, in the ninth, Ray Newman struck out the first two Expos' batters, but Clyde Mashore then singled, Mike Marshall walked and Hunt ended the game with his single.

Padres 4, Giants 1 at San Diego (night game):
Nate Colbert clouted a homer with two men on base in the 10th inning to give the Padres a 4-1 victory over the Giants, who were assured, nevertheless, of at least a tie for the West division title when the Dodgers lost to to the Astros. The Padres took a 1-0 lead against John Cumberland in the second inning when Ollie Brown singled, took third on a single by Garry Jestadt and scored on an infield out by Bob Barton. Clay Kirby, who hurled the route for the Padres, gave up the tying tally in the seventh. Ken Henderson led off with a single and Tito Fuentes sacrificed. After a strikeout of Willie Mays and intentional pass to Willie McCovey, Dave Kingman singled to drive in Henderson. Jerry Johnson was on the mound in relief for the Giants in the 10th when Tommy Dean singled and was forced by Don Mason. Johnny Jeter grounded to Chris Speier, but Fuentes dropped the throw to second and both Mason and Jeter were safe. Colbert then smashed his game-winning homer.
