Today's scores and summaries:

Yankees 5, Twins 3 at Minnesota (night game):
Bert Blyleven, who had won four straight games this year and 10 in a row over two seasons, was stopped on his streak when the Yankees defeated the Twins, 5-3. Gene Michael batted in a run with a triple and scored himself on an error to give the Yankees a 2-1 lead in the fifth. Johnny Callison hit his first homer in a Yankee uniform in the sixth. Mel Stottlemyre, who was the winner with help from Sparky Lyle, drove in what proved to be the deciding run with a double in the seventh, scoring Michael, who had singled.

Dodgers 5, Expos 2 at Montreal (night game):
The Dodgers erupted for four runs in the fourth inning, capping the attack with a homer by Steve Garvey, to defeat the Expos, 5-2. Willie Davis and Willie Crawford singled and Jim Lefebvre hit a sacrifice fly for the first run of the frame to tie the score at 2-2. Crawford, who advanced to second, crossed the plate with the go-ahead run on a single by Dick Dietz. Garvey then smashed his homer to account for an extra pair.
