Twins 3, Orioles 2 at Baltimore (night game):
Bobby Darwin, who singled to spark the scoring of two runs in the fourth inning, rapped a double in the sixth to break a tie and give the Twins a 3-2 victory over the Orioles, After Darwin's hit in the fourth, Steve Brye also singled and Eric Soderholm drove in both runners with a double. Harmon Killebrew singled in the sixth, took second on a wild throw by Davey Johnson and crossed the plate on Darwin's double. Brooks Robinson hit his first homer of the season for the Orioles.

A's 3, Indians 2 at Cleveland (night game):
Two homers -- one by Reggie Jackson with a man on base in the third inning and the other by Bert Campaneris with two out in the 10th -- powered the Athletics to a 3-2 victory over the Indians. Eddie Leon homered for the Indians to tie the score in the eighth after their first run had counted in the previous frame on a double by Alex Johnson and single by Graig Nettles.
