Today's scores and summaries:

Indians 4, Blue Jays 3 at Cleveland (night game):
Buddy Bell drove in two runs and scored twice, while Al Fitzmorris won for the first time since last August 28, when the Indians snapped their seven-game losing streak by defeating the Blue Jays, 4-3.

Mariners 4, Twins 3 at Minnesota (day game):
The Mariners, who collected 14 hits, wasted many of their scoring opportunties before edging the Twins, 4-3. The Twins were held to six hits by Frank MacCormack, who started for the Mariners, and John Montague, who pitched the last five innings and gained the decision. The Mariners got their first run in the second on a triple by Bill Stein and single by Carlos Lopez. Jose Baez singled a pair across in the sixth and then singled again in the eighth, moved to second on an infield out by Larry Milbourne and scored the deciding run on a single by Steve Braun.

Dodgers 7, Padres 5 at San Diego (night game):
After trailing, 4-0, the Dodgers erupted for six runs in the third inning and defeated the Padres, 7-5, to end their road trip with 11 victories in 12 games. George Hendrick hit a three-run homer for the Padres in the first. A single by Dave Freisleben and triple by Merv Rettenmund added a tally in the second. The Dodgers began their rally with two runs on singles by Johnny Oates and Davey Lopes, an infield out by Bill Russell and single by Reggie Smith. Ron Cey, who was stopped on his 17-game hitting streak, drew a walk and scored behind Smith when Steve Garvey doubled. Rick Monday then capped the outburst with a two-run homer. Garvey also hit for the circuit to account for the Dodgers' final run in the fifth inning.

Astros 3, Giants 1 at San Francisco (day game):
Two unearned runs -- one resulting from an error by Tim Foli and the other on a passed ball by Mike Sadek -- enabled the Astros to defeat the Giants, 3-1. Foli, playing in his first game with the Giants after being obtained in a deal with the Expos, booted a grounder by Jose Cruz in the second inning and Bob Watson followed with a homer. Julio Gonzalez singled in the fifth, raced to third on Sadek's passed ball and counted the Astros' other run on a sacrifice fly by Art Howe to insure the victory.
