Today's scores and summaries:

Orioles 4, White Sox 1 at Baltimore (night game):
A homer by Ken Singleton after Rich Dauer hit a single in the first inning sent the Orioles on their way to a 4-1 victory over the White Sox. Kevin Bell accounted for the White Sox run with a circuit clout in the second, but Andres Mora later matched that with a round-tripper for the Orioles in the seventh. Al Bumbry singled and Dauer doubled for the final marker in the eighth.

Indians 3, Angels 1 at California (night game):
Buddy Bell led off with a homer in the second inning to ignite a three-run outburst that brought the Indians a 3-1 victory over the Angels. After Bell's blow, John Lowenstein, Ray Fosse and Frank Duffy hit singles, Lowenstein scoring. Fosse then crossed the plate as Duane Kuiper grounded into a double play. Bobby Bonds saved the Angels from being the victims of a shutout by connecting for the circuit in the seventh.

Royals 6, Brewers 0 at Milwaukee (day game):

Yankees 6, Twins 5 at New York (day game):
Sparked by Willie Randolph, who hit a homer with a man on base, the Yankees went ahead with four runs in the fifth inning and defeated the Twins, 6-5.
