Mariners 3, Twins 2 at Seattle (night game):
Craig Reynolds and Bruce Bochte each had three hits and drove in all their team's runs as the Mariners won their season opener over the Twins, 3-2, before a crowd of 45,235. Bochte, a free agent signed in the offseason, doubled home a tally in the first inning and Reynolds hit a two-run homer in the second stanza. Glenn Abbott and Enrique Romo combined on the mound for the triumph. The Twins' scores were produced on singles by Rob Wilfong and Mike Cubbage.
