Today's scores and summaries:

Orioles 4, Rangers 2 at Baltimore (night game):
Dan Graham homered to tie the score in the sixth inning and then singled for the key hit in the eighth as the Orioles defeated the Rangers, 4-2. Pat Kelly led off the eighth with a single, stole second and advanced to third on a flyout. Jim Kern replaced Fergie Jenkins on the hill for the Texans and struck out Ken Singleton but then hit Eddie Murray with a pitch. Graham followed with a single to score Kelly, breaking a 2-2 tie. Murray also tallied when center fielder Mickey Rivers misplayed the ball.

Red Sox 10, Twins 5 at Boston (night game):
Fred Lynn hit for the cycle and drove in four runs to pace the Red Sox to a 10-5 victory over the Twins. Lynn, 13-for-20 in his last five games, doubled in the first, hit a two-run homer in the fourth, plated a run with a single in the sixth and drilled a triple for his fourth RBI in the eighth. Carl Yastrzemski clouted a two-run homer in the third.

Tigers 4, A's 3 at Detroit (night game):
Extending their winning streak to four games, the Tigers shaded the A's, 4-3. The Tigers scored three runs in the first inning. Richie Hebner drove in two with a triple and scored on a wild pitch. Kirk Gibson, hitting safely in his 10th straight game, blasted a solo homer for the deciding run in the fourth.

White Sox 6, Brewers 5 at Milwaukee (night game):
Pushing across run in the 10th inning, the White Sox edged the Brewers, 6-5. After a homer by Robin Yount had tied the score at 5-5 in the bottom of the ninth, the White Sox got consecutive two-out singles in the 10th from Wayne Nordhagen, Harold Baines and pinch-hitter Thad Bosley to win the game. Ed Farmer picked up his ninth save, tops in the majors.

Royals 4, Yankees 1 at New York (night game):
A pair of errors helped the Royals score all their runs in the third inning and down the Yankees, 4-1. U.L. Washington singled to open the third and Yankees pitcher Mike Griffin let Frank White's sacrifice bunt roll through his legs for an error, putting runners on first and second. After a bloop single by John Wathan loaded the bases, Darrell Porter delivered a run with a sacrifice fly to left field. When Bobby Murcer's throw to the infield went astray, White scored. Willie Aikens then capped the inning with a two-run homer.

Braves 7, Phillies 3 at Atlanta (night game):
Doyle Alexander received credit for his first National League victory since 1971 as the Braves scalped the Phillies, 7-3. The Braves scored twice in the first inning on an error and doubles by Chris Chambliss and Jeff Burroughs. Bob Horner and Gary Matthews stroked RBI singles in the second stanza. The Braves then tallied three times in the eighth on a run-scoring triple by Chambliss, a wild pitch and solo homer by Dale Murphy.

Reds 15, Mets 4 at Cincinnati (night game):
Ray Knight hit two homers in the fifth inning as the Reds walloped the Mets, 15-4. Knight led off the stanza with a round-tripper and then connected for a grand slam to climax the eight-run frame, thus joining 10 other N.L. players with two homers in one inning. He was the first Cincinnati player to accomplish the feat. The Reds also got homers from Ken Griffey and Dave Collins.

Expos 3, Astros 2 at Houston (night game):
Taking advantage of Nolan Ryan's lapses, the Expos posted a 3-2 triumph over the Astros. In Montreal's first turn at bat, Rodney Scott reached second safely on an error by Ryan, moved to third on a wild pitch and, after Andre Dawson walked, scored on the front end of a double steal. Larry Parrish followed with a double, driving in Dawson. The deciding run followed in the third on a single by Scott and double by Dawson. Starting pitcher David Palmer, who has not lost since last July 24, received credit for his 10th consecutive victory.

Dodgers 4, Cubs 2 at Los Angeles (night game):
The batting of Reggie Smith led the Dodgers to a 4-2 decision over the Cubs. Smith opened the scoring with a first-inning round-tripper and stroked a single to plate the first of the Dodgers' two runs in the third inning. The second marker of the frame came across on a single by Ron Cey. A bases-loaded walk to Gary Thomasson in the fifth accounted for the Dodgers' final tally.

Padres 3, Cardinals 2 at San Diego (night game):
A two-run rally in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted the Padres to a 3-2 victory over the Cardinals. With the Cards ahead, 2-1, pinch-hitter Von Joshua doubled with one out, reached third on a groundout by Ozzie Smith and scored as Jerry Turner beat out a slow roller. Turner went to second on a passed ball and, after Dave Cash was intentionally walked, Gene Richards drilled a single to plate the winning tally.

Giants 5, Pirates 0 at San Francisco (night game):
Brilliant pitching by Vida Blue carried the Giants to a 5-0 triumph over the Pirates. The ace southpaw permitted only four hits while striking out nine. The Giants scored twice in the second inning on a double by Mike Ivie, single by Milt May, infield out by Rennie Stennett and double by Johnnie LeMaster. Jack Clark clouted a homer in the sixth and singled home another run in the eighth.
