Today's scores and summaries:

White Sox 4, Mariners 0 at Chicago (night game):
Rick Honeycutt's streak of six straight victories for the Mariners was stopped by the White Sox, who won, 4-0, behind the three-hit pitching of 20-year-old rookie lefthander Britt Burns, who had a no-hitter until Leon Roberts doubled into the right field corner with one out in the sixth.

Indians 4, Red Sox 3 at Cleveland (night game):
With two out in the 10th inning, Miguel Dilone singled for his third hit of the game and drove in Dell Alston to bring the Indians a 4-3 victory over the Red Sox. Ron Hassey was safe on an error by Carl Yastrzemski to open the stanza. Dave Rosello ran for Hassey and advanced to second on a sacrifice by Ron Pruitt. Alston was passed intentionally. After Jerry Dybzinski forced Rosello at third, Dilone hit his single for the game-winning hit.

Royals 2, Angels 1 at Kansas City (night game):
Darrell Porter singled with the bases loaded in the 10th inning for his fourth hit of the game to give the Royals a 2-1 victory over the Angels. Carney Lansford homered in the first for the Angels' run off Larry Gura, who pitched the route for the Royals. Willie Wilson scored the Royals' tying run in the eighth and also crossed the plate with the winning run in the 10th.

Brewers 14, Twins 11 at Minnesota (day game):
Larry Hisle and Cecil Cooper batted in three runs apiece to lead the Brewers' 17-hit attack in a 14-11 victory over the Twins. Hisle hammered two homers to account for his RBIs. Cooper had three hits, including a round-tripper with a man on base. Butch Wynegar hit two triples and Roy Smalley had a triple, double and single among the Twins' 15 hits.

Yankees 3, Rangers 0 at New York (night game):
Turning in his first complete game of the season, Tom Underwood allowed only four hits while pitching the Yankees to a 3-0 victory over the Rangers. Rick Cerone singled, Bob Watson doubled and Reggie Jackson singled to give Underwood a two-run lead in the third inning. Singles by Willie Randolph and Jackson around an error by Rangers center fielder Mickey Rivers added a run in the eighth.

A's 4, Blue Jays 2 at Toronto (day game):
In an iron-man performance, Matt Keough allowed only five hits in 14 innings and came out the winner when the A's defeated the Blue Jays, 4-2. Jerry Newman knocked in the tie-breaking run with a single and Mickey Klutts added an insurance tally with a double.

Phillies 4, Astros 2 at Houston (night game):
Hitting a homer with two men on base, Larry Christenson helped himself to victory as the Phillies defeated the Astros, 4-2. Larry Bowa batted in the Phillies' first run with an infield out in the second inning before Christenson rapped his round-tripper off Joe Niekro. A sore elbow forced Christenson to leave the mound after five innings. Kevin Saucier and Dickie Noles finished wrapping up the victory.

Dodgers 3, Pirates 1 at Los Angeles (night game):
The Dodgers reached Bert Blyleven for three runs in the first inning and went on to defeat the Pirates, 3-1. Dodgers' runs scored on singles by Davey Lopes, Rudy Law and Reggie Smith, an infield out by Steve Garvey and single by Bill Russell. Don Sutton pitched the first eight innings for the Dodgers and gave up three hits, with a homer by Bill Madlock in the eighth accounting for the Pirates' tally.

Expos 9, Reds 6 at Montreal (day game):
The Expos, who were losing, 4-1, erupted for six runs in the seventh inning and defeated the Reds. 9-6, for their sixth straight victory. After two walks and a single by Ron LeFlore loaded the bases, a grounder by Andre Dawson got past Reds third baseman Ray Knight for an error, two runs scoring. Ellis Valentine followed with a double for another pair. After an intentional pass, Gary Carter and Warren Cromartie each hit run-scoring singles.

Cubs 2, Padres 1 at San Diego (night game):

Giants 4, Cardinals 2 at San Francisco (day game):
Two safe bunts set up a grand-slam homer by Darrell Evans and enabled the Giants to defeat the Cardinals, 4-2. After Johnnie LeMaster singled in the fifth inning, Vida Blue popped a bunt single over the head of Ken Reitz, charging in from third base, and Larry Herndon followed with a bunt that rolled between Reitz and Cardinals pitcher Bob Sykes. Evans then belted a drive to the upper facing in right field.
