Today's scores and summaries:

Orioles 7, Indians 3 at Baltimore (night game):
Eddie Murray drove in four runs to pace the Orioles' 7-3 victory over the Indians. The Birds broke a 1-1 tie with a four-run uprising in the fifth inning as Murray and Rich Dauer each contributed two-run singles. Murray blasted a two-run homer in the seventh.

Blue Jays 3, Red Sox 1 at Boston (night game):
A three-run outburst in the ninth lifted the Blue Jays to a 3-1 triumph over the Red Sox. The Jays trailed, 1-0, when Lloyd Moseby began the winning rally with a single and was sacrificed to second by Al Woods. Dick Drago relieved Tom Burgmeier on the hill for the Sox and, after getting the second out, hit pinch-hitter Otto Velez with a pitch. Damaso Garcia, Alfredo Griffin and Bob Bailor then followed with consecutive run-scoring singles.

Rangers 6, Angels 5 at California (day game):
Right fielder Dan Ford dropped a fly ball with two out in the eighth inning, allowing three runs to score and enabling the Rangers to pull out a 6-5 decision over the Angels. Buddy Bell, Johnny Grubb and Bob Babcock were tossed out of the game for Texas and Bruce Kison was ejected for California as a result of three separate beanball incidents. Jim Sundberg led off the Texas eighth with a single before Kison hit Grubb and a fight erupted, with Kison and Grubb wrestling at the mound. Mickey Rivers singled off reliever Mark Clear to load the bases. Bump Wills then drew a walk that forced in a run. Two outs later, Pat Putnam hit a routine fly to right for what should have been the third out, but Ford dropped the ball and three runs scored. Bell was ejected in the sixth for charging the mound after a close pitch from Kison. Babcock, after being warned, was banished in the seventh for throwing behind Ford.

Brewers 11, Mariners 1 at Milwaukee (day game):
Homers by Gorman Thomas and Ben Oglivie high-lighted a 18-hit attack as the Brewers enjoyed an 11-1 rout of the Mariners. Thomas gave the Brewers a 2-0 lead in the first inning with a round-tripper that followed a single by Cecil Cooper. Thomas also singled home a run in a five-run third and drove in another in the sixth. Oglivie belted his league-leading 12th homer in the fifth.

White Sox 6, Twins 3 at Minnesota (night game):
Alan Bannister and Greg Pryor had three hits apiece to pace the White Sox to a 6-3 victory over the Twins. The Sox erased a 1-0 deficit in the third inning on a double by Pryor, RBI single by Bannister and run-scoring double by Chet Lemon. The Pale Hose then engineered a four-run seventh. The Twins got a two-run single in the seventh by Ken Landreaux, extending his hitting streak to 27 games.

Yankees 13, Tigers 5 at New York (day game):
Driving in six runs with his first career grand slam and two singles, Rick Cerone paced the Yankees to a 13-5 blasting of the Tigers. Cerone singled in runs in the fifth and seventh innings and belted a bases-loaded homer to highlight a six-run eighth. The Yankees trailed, 3-1, going into the fifth when Bucky Dent doubled and scored on a single by Bobby Brown. Willie Randolph got a bunt single and a single by Ruppert Jones plated Brown. When right fielder Dave Stegman misplayed the ball, Randolph also scored. Dave Rozema replaced Dan Schatzeder and got the first out of the inning. But Jones stole third and scored when third baseman Richie Hebner failed to handle the throw. Cerone singled home the final run of the inning.

A's 4, Royals 1 at Oakland (day game):
Going the route for the eighth time, Matt Keough hurled a three-hitter in leading the A's to a 4-1 triumph over the Royals. Dave Revering drilled a two-run homer in the fourth inning and the A's got three hits and two walks in the sixth to give Keough breathing room.

Braves 2, Giants 1 at Atlanta (night game):
A two-run single by Larvell Blanks in the eighth inning lifted the Braves to a 2-1 triumph over the Giants. The Braves trailed, 1-0, when Bruce Benedict drilled a leadoff double in the Atlanta eighth that kayoed Frisco starter Allen Ripley in favor of reliever Greg Minton. A single by Mike Lum advanced Benedict to third, but he was subsequently thrown out at the plate on a fielder's choice. a groundout by Jerry Royster advanced the runners and Blanks followed with a two-run single to center.

Expos 4, Cubs 0 at Chicago (day game):
Three-hit pitching by Steve Rogers carried the Expos to a 4-0 whitewashing of the Cubs. The Expos scored twice in the fourth inning as Ellis Valentine led off with a single, went to third on a single by Gary Carter and scored on a double by Warren Cromartie. After Chris Speier was intentionally walked, Rogers drove in Carter with a perfectly placed bunt on a 3-2 pitch. Montreal got a two-run triple by Speier in the eighth.

[DH] Dodgers 4, Reds 0 (day game) / Reds 5, Dodgers 4 at Cincinnati (day game):
The Dodgers and Reds split a doubleheader, L. A. winning the first game, 4-0, as Jerry Reuss pitched a four-hitter in recording his 23rd career shutout, and the Reds captured the nightcap, 5-4, with a grand slam by George Foster the decisive blow. In the opener, Ron Cey smacked a solo round-tripper in the second inning and the Dodgers added a pair of runs in the third on a bases-loaded walk to Steve Garvey and sacrifice fly by Dusty Baker. The score was tied, 1-1, in the fifth inning of the second game when the Reds loaded the bases on singles by Dave Collins and Dave Concepcion and a walk to Ken Griffey. Joe Beckwith then came on to relieve Dave Goltz for the Dodgers and was greeted by Foster's big blast.

Astros 4, Padres 1 at Houston (night game):
The Astros ended a four-game losing streak with a 4-1 victory over the Padres. A three-run outburst in the second inning triggered the triumph. Jose Cruz opened with a single, stole second and scored on a single by Enos Cabell. A double by Jeff Leonard plated Cabell and a single by Art Howe drove home Leonard.

Phillies 7, Pirates 6 at Philadelphia (night game):
A two-run rally in the ninth lifted the Phillies to a 7-6 triumph over the Pirates. The Phils trailed, 6-5, when Mike Schmidt led off the ninth with a double and reached third on a single by Greg Luzinski, who was replaced by pinch-runner Lonnie Smith. A double by Bob Boone scored Schmidt and Garry Maddox was intentionally walked to load the bases. Larry Bowa then delivered the game-winning single. The teams engaged in a 10-minute brawl in the sixth inning. After close pitching by both sides, Kevin Saucier hit Willie Stargell in the fifth and Bert Blyleven in the sixth and a ruckus broke out. After order was restored, Pirates reserve Lee Lacy and Phillies coach Herm Starrette were ejected.

Cardinals 8, Mets 5 at St. Louis (day game):
Paced by two homers by George Hendrick, the cellar-dwelling Cardinals snapped a 10-game losing streak with an 8-5 victory over the Mets. Hendrick belted a solo round-tripper in the fourth to tie the score at 3-3 and capped a three-run rally in the sixth with a two-run shot. The Cards broke a 3-3 deadlock in the sixth on a double by Keith Hernandez and RBI single by Ted Simmons. Hendrick then connected for the circuit.
