Randolph's blow came with two out after walks to Graig Nettles and Bucky Dent. Barry Foote homered in the third inning in his first at-bat as a Yankee.

Blue Jays 6, Brewers 2 at Milwaukee (night game):
Erupting for four runs in the sixth inning, the Blue Jays took a 6-2 triumph over the Brewers. The score was 2-2 when Damaso Garcia began the sixth stanza with a triple. After Otto Velez drew a one-out walk, a single by Barry Bonnell scored Garcia. Ken Macha then doubled to left-center field, chasing home Velez and Bonnell. Alfredo Griffin capped the rally with a two-bagger that plated Macha.

Twins 4, Mariners 1 at Minnesota (day game):
Recording his first complete game of the season, Pete Redfern fired a five-hitter in pitching the Twins to a 4-1 decision over the Mariners. The Twins tallied twice in the first inning on run-scoring singles by Roy Smalley and Rick Sofield, and extended the margin to 3-0 in the fourth on an RBI single by Rob Wilfong. The final Twins marker came in the seventh frame when John Castino drilled his second triple of the game and scored on a single by Mickey Hatcher.
