Today's scores and summaries:

Angels 6, Orioles 2 at California (night game):
Throwing errors by Mark Belanger and Doug DeCinces led to two of three runs the Angels scored in the first inning en route to a 6-2 triumph over the Orioles. Don Baylor hit a two-run homer in the seventh and also had a pair of doubles, and Geoff Zahn pitched a complete game for his first career victory over the Orioles. The game marked the end of Bobby Grich's 21-game hitting streak.

Red Sox 6, A's 4 at Oakland (night game):
The Red Sox, with Dwight Evans driving in the tying and go-ahead runs on a bases-loaded single in the eighth inning, ended the A's five-game winning streak, 6-4. Cliff Johnson had given the A's a 4-3 lead with a home run, his 11th of the season, in the sixth.

Indians 6, Mariners 5 at Seattle (night game):
Alan Bannister singled to score Mike Hargrove with the winning run as the Indians outdueled the Mariners, 6-5 in 14 innings. Hargrove and Chris Bando singled off reliever Dick Drago before Toby Harrah flied out, setting the stage for Bannister's deciding blow. Pinch-hitter Pat Kelly's two-run single was the key blow when the Tribe rallied to tie the score, 5-5, in the ninth. Reliever Mike Stanton allowed one hit in 5 2/3 innings to earn the decision.

Braves 6, Mets 4 at Atlanta (night game):
The Braves scored two runs in the third inning, on an RBI single by Chris Chambliss and Glenn Hubbard's grounder, and defeated the Mets, 6-4. Hubbard also hit a home run in the second inning. Phil Niekro pitched the first seven innings and was credited with his 237th career victory.
