A's 5, Twins 2 at Oakland (day game):
Homers by Joe Rudi and Jeff Newman keyed a five-run fourth inning that lifted the A's to a 5-2 decision over the Twins as Tom Underwood went the route, scattering eight hits. One out later, Brett Butler's grounder to short hit Sinatro for the second out of the frame.
