Today's scores and summaries:

Orioles 8, Rangers 7 at Baltimore (night game):
A steal of home by Cal Ripken spurred the Orioles to an 8-7 decision over the Rangers. With the game tied, 3-3 in the sixth inning, Ripken singled, went to third on a single by Lenn Sakata and stole home as Sakata stole second. Al Bumbry then singled to plate Sakata. The Birds got three runs in the eighth on Rich Dauer's single and a two-run homer by Ken Singleton. Texas rallied for four runs in the ninth on a three-run pinch-homer by Leon Roberts and a round-tripper by Larry Parrish, but Tippy Martinez came on to get the last two outs and earn his fourth save.

Tigers 4, Angels 3 at California (day game):
Staging a three-run rally in the top of the ninth inning, the Tigers edged the Angels, 4-3. Detroit, trailing 3-1, loaded the bases on singles by Richie Hebner and Larry Herndon and a walk to Lance Parrish. Lou Whitaker's single scored Hebner and Herndon to tie the game and Jerry Turner followed with the game-winning pinch-single. Brian Downing hit a homer for the Angels in the fifth and Bobby Grich cracked a leadoff round-tripper in the sixth.

Indians 9, Twins 4 at Cleveland (night game):
Von Hayes drove in five runs with a three-run homer, bases-loaded walk and a double to lead the Indians to a 9-4 scalping of the Twins, the Tribe's eighth straight victory and Minnesota's 12th loss in a row. The Indians tallied four times in the first on a single by Mike Hargrove and Hayes' round-tripper. They picked up three more runs in the third on a run-scoring double by Hargrove and two-run circuit clout by Andre Thornton.

Royals 11, White Sox 4 at Kansas City (night game):
Laying down an 18-hit barrage, the Royals bombed the White Sox, 11-4. The A's managed only five hits, including Rickey Henderson's home run in the first and a homer by Tony Armas in the eighth, off the pitching of Bob Ojeda and Bob Stanley.

Mariners 5, Brewers 4 at Seattle (night game):
Paul Serna's second homer of the game, a two-run shot in the bottom of the 11th inning, lifted the Mariners to a 5-4 triumph over the Brewers. Serna's blast followed a one-out single by Lenny Randle and enabled Seattle to overcome a 4-3 lead that Milwaukee had taken in the top of the frame on Robin Yount's homer, his second round-tripper of the game. Cecil Cooper also smacked two homers for the Brewers, giving him five in five games. The Mariners had tied the contest in the bottom of the ninth on Bruce Bochte's single.

Blue Jays 5, Yankees 4 at Toronto (night game):

He went to second on a sacrifice, reached third as Gary Matthews flied out and scored the winning run when Reds third baseman Johnny Bench made an errant throw to first on a grounder by Manny Trillo.
