Angels 8, Brewers 3 at California (day game):
Don Baylor tied a Championship Series record by driving in five runs, leading the Angels to an 8-3 triumph over the Brewers in the opening game of the A.L. pennant playoffs. Baylor produced California's first run by lofting a sacrifice fly in the first inning.
