January 13, 1972: Mike's Day With Buttons

With Reta Shaw, Eddie Quillan, Dick Wilson. Debut of a comedy series about a successful dentist, his wife, two children and a "live-in" chimpanzee with a talent for trouble. In the first show Dr. Mike Reynolds decides to get better acquainted with with Buttons the chimp, and makes the mistake of taking him along to his office to clear up some paper work. A nervous society woman shows up for some emergency dental treatment.

January 20, 1972: My Pet, The Thief
Season 1, episode 2

With Ruta Lee (Lavelle Wiggins), Sandy Kenyon (2nd Cop), Bruce Kirby (1st Cop). Mike Reynolds is fighting a losing battle, trying to convince his wife and children they should not keep the stray chimp they found in the park.

January 27, 1972: Mike's Burglar Alarm
Season 1, episode 3

With Leonard Stone (Police Lieutenant), Bernie Kopell (Arbogast). Although Mike teaches Buttons to ring a bell whenever he sees a stranger enter the house, he didn't program the chimp for a burglar with a handful of candy.

February 3, 1972: Mike The Matchmaker
Season 1, episode 4
Buttons meets a sexy girl chimp named Mildred in the park, and even Mike becomes interested -- when he sees the chimp's pretty owner.

February 17, 1972: Mike's Big Act
Season 1, episode 5
W: Mickey Rose
Mike reluctantly agrees to use Buttons in his magic act before the PTA, and then goes on a crash-course training program to teach the chimp tricks.

February 24, 1972: The Lost Flashlight
Season 1, episode 6
Buttons the chimp loses his flashlight at a drive-in movie, and the animal keeps the neighborhood in turmoil while the object is missing.

March 2, 1972: One Romantic Evening
Season 1, episode 7

With Jeff Donnell (Grandma), Robert Nichols (Kennel Manager). Mike and Liz would like to spend their anniversary evening alone, so Liz's mother agrees to take care of the kids -- and Buttons -- overnight.

March 16, 1972: Tennis Anyone?
Season 1, episode 8

With Norman Bartold (Hancock). Buttons helps Mike cure a small case of bigotry at the local country club when they refuse to accept Mike's friend because of his race.

March 23, 1972: The Paint Job
Season 1, episode 9

With Tom Bosley (Goodrich). The Reynolds family is picked by a paint manufacturer as the ideal family to demonstrate their product on TV, but they're not prepared to cope with Buttons.

March 30, 1972: The Ghost Town
Season 1, episode 10

With Noah Beery Jr. (Beetley). A planned weekend trip to the snow country ends up in a deserted ghost town where the Reynolds family and Buttons encounter some wild happenings.

April 6, 1972: Mike's Night In
Season 1, episode 11
The Reynolds family learns that Buttons was once a member of the space program and that they might have to give him back to the government.

April 13, 1972: Hoop-Lah
Season 1, episode 12

With Joseph V. Perry (Mr. Turner), Henry Beckman (Mr. Pitts), Jeff Whipple (Murray). Mike has a run-in with his son's basketball coach and takes over the job himself. In the first big game Mike is short one player and adds Buttons to the team.

April 27, 1972: Liz's Allergy
Season 1, episode 13

With Dick Yarmy (Dr. Oldham). Allergy anguish: Liz may be allergic to Buttons. (Last show of the series.)
